【Culture Sharing in Jieshou Junior High School-St. Vincent 】

2024-03-01

Do you know that the movie 'Pirates of the Caribbean' series was filmed in Saint Vincent?

Thank you very much to the ICDF and the Jieshou Junior High School for the invitation, allowing us, students from Saint Vincent in the Caribbean, represented by Cherry-Ann Earlene Morris, to have the opportunity to cross over 15,000 kilometers and share our country's volcanic geography, culture, carnival, Christmas celebrations, and other customs, to embark on a deep cultural journey.

One of the most impressive things was the different cultural nuances. For instance, in Taiwan, the music played by garbage trucks is 'Für Elise' by Beethoven, whereas in Saint Vincent, it's actually the music played by ice cream trucks. Also, what you might expect to find in a baby stroller might surprise you - in Taiwan, even furry friends get to ride along! Through interactions with high school students, Cherry also came to appreciate the beauty of Taiwan's cultural landmarks and heritage sites.
